Jaguar E-Type Semi-Lightweight

A superb Brian Wingfield Built Example

Built by Brian Wingfield of DRL Engineering for Lord Bamford in 1989. Correspondence on file suggests that Lord Bamford had borrowed an E-Type from Wingfield to test and that 12 FXG was commissioned as a result. The list of upgrades from a ‘standard’ Wingfield car spans almost two pages of typed A4, with Lord Bamford clearly taking a personal interest in the specification. Currently fitted with a competition tuned 4.2 Litre engine, 5 speed gearbox, Dunlop race wheels and a whole host of other upgrades, this is an exceptionally fast and well sorted E-Type. The second owner, Rodney Bloor, competed in the car, winning several events and the next owner completed two successful Tour Britannia events in 2007 and 2008. Finished in Ecurie Ecosse blue, 12 FXG has had only four owners since built by Wingfield (with Lord Bamford owning it twice).
