2023 Ultima RS

930kg. 755bhp. Rear-wheel drive. Manual gearbox. That tells you almost everything you need to know.

The Ultima RS is widely regarded as one of the most capable analogue performance cars available today. Built in the UK by Ultima Sports, it combines lightweight construction, a spaceframe chassis and V8 power to deliver genuine hypercar-level performance without relying on hybrid systems or driver aids. The recipe is simple. Low weight, high power and maximum driver engagement.

This 2023 example is a one-owner car and has seen effectively no use since completion, presenting far closer to a newly delivered car than a used one, with just 50 miles showing on the clock.

The car was assembled by Tony Castle-Miller of Middle Barton Garage, a respected name in specialist circles with years of car-building experience. The build took place between April 2022 and August 2023, with around £45,000 spent on labour, giving a clear indication of the level of care and attention that has gone into this car.

The car is right-hand drive and built around the latest fully updated RS spaceframe, using mainly 38mm x 1.5mm tubing and offering high torsional rigidity. It is further strengthened by a fully welded 45mm CDS roll cage with rear braces, all finished in satin black powder coat and panelled in 1.5mm NS4 alloy.

Aerodynamically, the car features a full-width 1780mm double-element carbon fibre rear wing, mounted on swan-neck supports and adjustable through nine positions from -2 to +14 degrees. It has been wind tunnel tested and is designed to transfer load directly into the chassis.

This is supported by a full suite of optional carbon components, including a front splitter with vortex generators, dive planes, brake ducts with turning vanes, side splitters, wheel arch vents and a rear diffuser. A Le Mans-style roof scoop improves engine intake efficiency without adding drag. The body itself is finished in white GRP with a high-quality gel coat, with a reprofiled front canopy, improved venting and airflow management throughout.

The interior is well specified, featuring leather Ultima RS seats designed for 75mm harnesses, an Alcantara dashboard, optional carpeting with colour-coded piping and air conditioning. There is billet anodised switchgear with red illumination, a stainless steel handbrake, wireless steering wheel controls and a billet quick-shift gear lever with reverse lockout. A front lift system is fitted and controlled from the dashboard, and the car carries its individual numbered build plaque.

Lighting is handled by the latest bespoke Ultima LED system, with sequential indicators, DRLs and integrated cooling. The laminated glass is fully certified for US and European use, and the car is finished with grey-tinted side screens and headlight covers.

The suspension is properly engineered, with unequal length double wishbones, extended front geometry and billet aluminium uprights with upgraded hubs and driveshafts. Nitron adjustable dampers allow full control over bump, rebound and ride height, and the hydraulic front lift system adds real-world usability. Steering is via a quick ratio rack with 2.1 turns lock-to-lock.

Braking is upgraded to the larger RS specification, with 362mm curved vane discs and six-piston callipers all round, along with adjustable front-to-rear bias and stainless steel lines.

Power comes from a Chevrolet supercharged 6.2-litre LT5 V8 producing 755bhp, paired to a Porsche six-speed manual transaxle and billet cable shift system. It is a well-judged combination, delivering outrageous performance in a car weighing just 930kg. The result is nothing short of explosive. 0–60 mph in 2.3 seconds, 0–150 mph in under 9 seconds and a top speed beyond 250 mph (gearing limited). These numbers place the car firmly amongst the fastest cars in the world.

The car sits on bespoke forged 19-inch one-piece wheels, finished in grey with RS detailing, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

Included in the sale is a nearly new PRG Prosporta Monza twin-axle enclosed trailer, which adds a practical element and makes transporting the car to events or circuits straightforward.

Overall, it’s a very well put together Ultima RS. Low use, high spec, and built by the right team. More importantly, it delivers exactly what an Ultima should, huge performance, low weight, and a driving experience that feels completely unfiltered.

Currently unregistered, this Ultima RS is fully road legal and can be registered for road use in its current form, with no modifications required.
