Supplied new in January 1965 via Jaguar Motorcars, New York this E-Type was originally finished in Primrose over Black interior. A matching numbers example, 9111 WK was subject to full nut and bolt restoration in 2009 with further upgrade work undertaken by renowned stateside Jaguar specialists XKs Unlimited in San Luis Obispo, California.
Spanning two years and costing over $107,000 the restoration left no bolt unturned and was rebuilt from a bare shell up. Refinished in British Racing Green, the Jaguar was further rebuilt with drivability in mind by XK Unlimited. The engine features a big valve cylinder head with fast road cams, forged high-compression pistons and a stainless performance exhaust system, electronic ignition and triple Weber 45DCOE carburettors. The interior is in a similar vein with factory air conditioning, electric power steering, and the earlier style aluminium interior fascia which combined with the more comfortable 4.2 seats make it a very pleasurable place to be on long journeys.
The running gear has been lavished with the same attention, with upgraded alloy callipers, adjustable suspension and competition wire wheels.
The result of all this work is a car that not only looks correct but drives better than new.
Since the restoration 9111 WK has been shown at a number of prestigious concours including Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance, the Rodeo Drive Concours and most notably at the “The Quail Motorsports Gathering”. In 2018 this E-Type was brought back to its birthplace where it was UK registered with a correct period Coventry registration and has continued to be lavished with attention, with a overhaul at CKL Developments in 2020 totalling £15,000 and the fitment of a performance Hayward and Scott exhaust system.
Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history file which documents its restoration journey as well as including a FIVA passport, Heritage Certificate and a quantity of invoices.
