Distributed via Jaguar Cars New York, this ex-Arizona E-Type, chassis 888297, was repatriated to the United Kingdom in 1990. Chosen for – as with so many of the dry state cars –its exceptional body, this 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe was completely restored. The engine was lightened and balanced, and mated to the much-improved later all synchromesh gearbox. Sitting on outside laced chrome wire wheels, it is finished in British Racing Green with a tan interior by Mike Turley.
Within the past 3 years over £6,000 has been spent; the front suspension, steering rack and brakes have all been completely rebuilt, and Koni shock absorbers add to the driving experience.
A really good road E-Type, with a body that has not been subjected to rust and bad repair, this is a Jaguar that will appeal to the enthusiast who appreciates a well sorted, nice driving E-Type.
