1963 Jaguar E-Type Semi-Lightweight

Front running contemporary ‘E’ that’s ready for the 2015 season

Built in 2011 by Martin O’Connell Racing, 9000 WK is a correct Semi-Lightweight specification race car with a steel monocoque clothed by aluminium bonnet, boot and doors. The steel engine was built by Rob Beere – and just been refreshed by him for the forthcoming season – and a recent visit to the rolling road showed 340 bhp and 320 lb/ft of torque. The gearbox is a Denis Welch close ratio, all synchromesh unit with the power going via a Tilton competition clutch to a Limited Slip Diff with differential oil cooler.

It has proved itself to be one of the fastest of contemporary Jaguar E-Types with success in the HSCC, Masters and E-Type challenge. It competed in the recent Goodwood all E-Type race as well as in the VSCC’s Pomeroy Trophy in 2014, finishing 5th overall – an exceptional result considering the handicap.

Accompanied by current Appendix K HTPs papers this E-Type has always been a front runner. 9000 WK comes with a spare set of wheels and is ready for the 2015 season, a season that includes the new Jaguar Heritage Challenge.
