1955 Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe

Ex Duncan Hamilton

Supplied through Henlys of London in July 1955, the second owner is known to have been the ex-Jaguar Works driver Duncan Hamilton, his son Adrian confirming it was often used by his mother!

Since 1979 it has had only 3 owners, the current since 1998, supported by a raft of paperwork documenting its restoration and maintenance. The colour was changed to Silver from the original factory Birch Grey, the photographs on file showing original paint. The bodywork required surprisingly little attention for a UK supplied XK. Since then, there are invoices from specialists including CMC Ltd, many old MOTs and Tax Discs. It was also a feature car in The Automobile magazine.

Used regularly, this is a real driver’s XK. Sitting on Michelin Pilote tyres, the only modification from standard is a 5-speed gearbox. Other than that, it is a very standard car, sitting on steel wheels with spats. The red trim is in excellent order, and the body is straight and sound. There are a few areas on the paint that could either be left alone or attended to at a later date. Come and have a drive and see what a good XK140 feels like!
