1959 Jaguar XK150 3.4 SE Drop Head Coupe

A Three Owner, Home Market, Matching Numbers Example

The Jaguar XK150, Coventry’s final incarnation of the XK series, had since the XK120 developed into a true Grand Tourer. The Drop Head Coupe offered the joyous combination of wind-in-the-hair motoring and the (relative!) weather resistance of a Fixed Head Coupe.

This is an original Home Market, 3 owner example that is publicly offered for sale for the first time in its life. Supplied new via Henleys Ltd on the 25th September 1959 to Miss D Campbell (daughter of the wartime legend Major-General Jock Campbell). Chassis S 827448 remains in its factory colours of dark blue over a blue interior, and the original engine and gearbox are still present.

Recently maintained by Twyford Moors with bills in excess of £20,000, including a complete respray, since 2012. Sensible upgrades include a stainless-steel exhaust, Spax shock absorbers, expansion tank, electric fan, polybushed all round and a firmer anti-roll bar. Other than that, it is a very standard and original example. There’s a good history file as well as the original Service Handbook and period sales brochure. Whilst not one for the concours lawn, it is a very good driving example. For further details, please don’t hesitate to call.
