1962 Jaguar E-Type

A Restored, Home Market Car

We’re delighted to offer this Right Hand Drive, UK supplied, 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe. Finished in Indigo Blue with a Grey interior, it’s a well restored example with some sensible upgrades.

The Heritage Certificate confirms it left Browns Lane on 29th March 1962, supplied to Henleys Limited, London, and the first owner was P.D. Good of Brentwood, Essex. Ownership is known from the outset, including photos from the 3rd owner, John Mallet, who owned the car from 1968 until 1971.

Extensively restored by Robert Pepper of Royal Purple Restorations between 1988-1990, there are pictures on file showing the extent of their work. Whilst awaiting auction by Coys of Kensington in 2004, a warehouse fire damaged the Jaguar, and thus a second bare metal restoration took place between 2005 and 2012. Again, photos are on file of the work completed, along with a great many invoices. This restoration was to a very high standard, and was chosen by Stratstone, the Jaguar dealer, to be exhibited alongside the new F-Type upon its launch.

There is a great list of upgrades, fitted during this period, that transform this E-Type into a fabulous road car including a high-torque starter, SPAX adjustable shockers, Coopercraft front brakes, electronic ignition and DUNLOP triple-laced competition wheels.

A great driving E-Type in a desirable colour scheme. Is there any sports car of the era that can match it for pace, value and usability?
