Pendine Works

Pendine Works is a specialist classic and historic car workshop focused on servicing work, race preparation and event support. We have a wealth of experience in working on a wide range of vehicles from pre-war to 1950’s and 60’s sports cars.

Pendine Works was born from the idea of being able to offer a small, select group of clients a more inclusive post-sale experience, everything from vehicle management and maintenance to event support and entry.

Who we are

Karim DeMynn

Karim has had a passion for working on cars since he was a child, learning the basics from his uncle’s workshop in Wales. After inheriting his father’s Standard 10, Karim pursued mechanics as a career, studying at college before working on classic minis and rally ford escorts. He later progressed to working with Vintage cars, at renowned specialists,  including Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts and Vauxhalls. He has looked after some of the most historically important vehicles in the world with stints preparing and supporting race cars at events such as the Goodwood Revival and providing rally support at prestigious events around the world. Karim can turn his spanners to almost anything and in any environment, with engine building and race/rally preparation being his specialist subjects. His workshop door is always open, and he is more than happy to discuss ongoing and future projects with our clients.

Kat Shears

Kat started out with a desire to work in classic car events, quickly earning herself a spot on the team at a top UK auction house helping with administration and events organisation. During this time, she developed a love for vehicle management, and made a point of learning how to handle the administrative heart of classic cars. Kat has built a reputation for having a great understanding of the complicated DVLA systems and as well as being a master of logistics. As business manager, Kat handles the organisation of both the workshop and the cars in our care.

Her ability to keep the cogs turning in the workshop whilst also managing the racing and events diary for clients is testament to her enthusiasm for classic cars.

Values

Our ethos is to be a friendly, approachable and reliable workshop handling a select number of classic and historic vehicles.

We are a small team working out of a purpose-built facility in Warwickshire where we are able to offer a full range of services to our clients:

Engine Rebuilds

One of Karim’s passions is engine builds. He encourages our clients to visit the workshop and take the opportunity to sit down with him and discuss what they would like to achieve. Following this Karim can draw up a bespoke, rebuild proposal tailored to any specification.

We are proud to have completed a broad range of engine rebuilds.

Service Work

We undertake a range of work from routine to major services to ensure your car is running to its true potential and leaves us in safe and road worthy condition.

Once a vehicle arrives at our workshops, we conduct a full appraisal, following this we write up a proposal for works needed in the service and any additional recommendations to be carried out.

Race Preparation and Support

Both Kat and Karim have been supporting teams at race events around the world for a number of years. Between them they can handle everything including event entry, accommodation, vehicle preparation, testing, logistics and race/rally support.

“there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a car all the way through from arrival in the workshop to be prepared for an event, testing the car and making sure it is competition ready, transport and finally seeing the car compete. That is what we set out to do, because it is what we are most passionate about. Seeing these cars out and driving as intended, it fuels us” – Kat

We are always excited to work at familiar events as well as taking on new challenges. Whatever the brief, we are well equipped and ready for anything.

EVENTS & VEHICLE MANAGEMENT

Kat has a wealth of experience in collection management and vehicle administration, as business manager she applies these skills not only to the individual cars in the care of Pendine Works but also to the wider collections of our clients. Kat is always happy to provide consultancy on every aspect of classic car ownership including storage, administration, usage, event diaries and much more.

Adding yet another string to her bow, Kat has been responsible for organising plenty of events for her clients from bespoke road rallies both in the UK and on the continent, to private track days and launch parties. She has a host of upcoming events in the works which Pendine clients can look forward to participating in.
